Value of Domain Hacks

Here's my question..what is the value of domain hack? I've seen some good domain hack and i was wondering about the value of it. I myself own one and i'm not sure whether or not i should get more. I haven't seen any sale of domain hack. Why do we register domain hack? Is it because the domain looks cool or because there's a potential end user who's willing to buy such domain?

That is even worse. Why register a hack of someone's name? I would read all I can in this thread about hacks & about what makes a domain have value before spending anymore on domains otherwise you are just wasting your money. For hacks, the names need to be very strong keywords & have high commercial/development value.

Real name may be registered only if it is active in twitter or less likely in facebook. In this case you may expect interest to that name from its holder. For sure, this is squatting and noone is recommended to do so.

As for keywords with potential I must say that there is no such definition as low potential word. Sometimes company with strange/uncommon vocabulary word wants to use hack because .com is occupied.

A hack like this one is a decent one IMO as there are lots of "traders" & development potential for this name. Stock, property, commodities, domains, etc. It could be an info site or a brokerage site for example.

I also saw investo.rs on Sedo auction with some decent bid (don't remember exact amount, high $xxx or low $x,xxx).

Why? For example, nethouseprices.com is quite active on FB and Twitter and they're using URL shortener. Did you tried to offer them your domain?

N.et is a great hack. Good luck with it! The fact that .et is otherwise unavailable is not a good selling point -- it adds to the perception of risk (that the name could arbitrarily be taken away).

I don't see how this is possible when there is no such ccTLD as .et so nobody can register anything with a .et extension.

How did you manage to get N.et? Are/were 1-char .et's available for registration or did you buy yours as a premium directly from the registry?

Other strange thing happens when you type in .et names in Chrome address bar - it goes to search page instead of website.

Yes, it looks like .et isn't recognized by Chrome.
