NO, that is not "a very effective way". You can change to "Pending sale" instead of "Sold" and notify the seller with disclaimer that until the sale is paid/verified, he/she should not count on the money yet.

Today marks a month with zero sales for my 490 domains portfolio on BB. The difference between my last sale and the one before was almost 2 months! I do consider the quality of my portfolio to be amidst the best there. That makes my annual sales roughly at 1 sale every 1.5-2 months. which is less than 2% a year.
I dont get parking revenue as well. Dont get to negotiate with buyers, and get a 30% cut + logo + listing fees.

If I sell 1-1.5% outside BB, I might be in a better financial position!

I think the way they handle sales is good. When the sale happens they change the status of the domain to sold so that no other user can subsequently buy. They do not send you a sales confirmation email until after they have secured the payment, and if you work with online payments you'll know that many can be fraudulent. Once they are happy with the buyer/payment they will then send you the confirmation email. I think this is a very effective way of dealing with things, so if you see the Sold sign on your name wait until you receive the email. That's when you can celebrate.

Maybe it is the skeptic in me, but I don't think it should be marked "sold" until the money is in the bank. I know the chances are low, but if another buyer wanted that name and it was unavailable, then the payment failed, you lost a sale. When buying a house, they don't take it off the market until the money is in the bank. Instead they usually put something like "contract pending". To a second buyer that means they might still be able to get that domain should the original deal fall through. Taking it off the market before it is paid for is not a good move IMO.

While my words literally said that, I think you understood my intent. Sold means the funds are in the bank and confirmed/verified.

I don't know what BB prefers but end-users seem to prefer keyword + animal for sure.

I thought the same but then checked at namebio and realised that there are always more sales in the other pattern. Maybe these are mostly non-brandable sales, more related to the animal itself.

You are probably right as I can image that those are more EMDs such as CatFood, DogKennel or FishFood. Using an animal suffix is better to create a brandable name as per the example i gave above.

I just logged into my BrandBucket account to deal with some recent approvals, come to find one of my domains has disabled features, and the above ribbon attached to it. I haven't received an email yet. I'll post more details once the sale is finalized.
