.am registration no longer available at GoDaddy?

hi,
just came across this problem recently.
i had a .am name at godaddy regd at the begining of 09.

now this name was in TRAFFIC silicon valley too!

however on trying to register another .am @ g*dy i found that the registration is not available .

on trying to renew ,i see that the option is available.

did the .am registry end the deal with godaddy . or am i missing something here.

very irresponsible of them ,in not informing customers beforehand.
They did this in stealth mode
