If EPIK or any registrar/registry for that matter, goes bankrupt, or shuts down, what happens to my domain names trapped at their registry?
What is the timeline and mechanism to get them back?

If a registrar goes bankrupt/shuts-down OR even if it violates certain clauses of ICANN's policy, then ICANN will 'choose another registrar' to which the domains of the 'out of business registrar' will be MOVED.

We've an example here:
Net 4 India customers were MOVED to publicdomainregistry.com.
