Hello everyone! I am someone who cares about my privacy and I wanted to know which registrars hide your data, such as your first and last name.

So far I've used namecheap, but I don't know if it's as effective with that.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
NameCheap, based off anecdotal evidence, it seems like they hide the most scam crypto sites outside Godaddy.

If you check some of these, such as
https://www.godaddy.com/whois
https://whois.domaintools.com/
https://www.networksolutions.com/domains/whois

you might not find much disclosed or everything that is disclosed even if the domain owner has privacy OFF, but if you check here
https://lookup.icann.org/en
at least you will know what is being revealed, if anything.

In order to decide which registrar hides your anonymity the best (or discloses everything you want disclosed if you decline privacy) you need to know what is being disclosed to the world.

It should be a standard practice nowadays and should be free.
At least in the EU (GDPR), I don't know about other jurisdictions whether it's standard there or not.
But look for "free whois privacy" during the domain registration.

Are you talking about whois data? NameSilo, Internet.bs and DynaDot are three registrars which offer free whois privacy that can be enabled before the domain is registered (purchased) or transferred. Your name might not be hidden from the registrar, but it will be hidden from the public.

ICANN rules mean you HAVE to give your name to at least the registrar when registering a name, so whois privacy is about the best you can do when it comes to people looking up the domain. If it's CC or other financial details you're worried about then go with a registrar that accepts Crypto and offers whois privacy, like NameSilo.
