I am trying to find out why you can't register certain acronyms for second level domains..
Some I understand......like: Opec, Interpol, unesco, UN etc etc etc
but when it comes to more generic acronyms like Eco, SPC, LAS etc etc it left me scratching my head......
If someone can let me know it would be appreciated......
Read an article from 2014 - https://www.thedomains.com/2014/03/...re-being-take-back-on-icanns-restricted-list/
Which led me to - https://www.icann.org/sites/default/files/packages/reserved-names/ReservedNames.xml#IGOs-2
To save scrolling through the above list, click option 6 at the top under "DNS Labels to be reserved are included below" to view the full list of acronyms
Edit:
I mean take "Eco" the .com is a developed site - https://eco.com
