Hi,

Google launched its new algorithm to target non-responsive websites but many experts analyzed its minor effect on website so is it important to make website responsive or not.

Totally untrue. There is nothing targeting "non responsive" sites.

They are supposedly giving MOBILE FRIENDLY sites an advantage in searches done on mobile devices.

Your site can be mobile friendly without being responsive. You can serve a completely different "mobile" version of your site to mobile users. This is preferable if you have a desktop site that converts well and is ranked well but would not translate well to a responsive layout.

This doesn't seem to have shaken up mobile rankings much. BUT with more people using mobile, its to your advantage to give them a site that's as easy or easier for them to use than those of your competitors.

As mentioned above mobile friendly/ responsive sites are given some added priority in the search results. But non responsive sites have no negative value added to them as of now. But in future it definitely would as the number of mobile users are increasing rapidly

The web itself is a dynamic "thing" and there are many more "things" designed everyday to connect to the interwebs in the future.

Your website needs to respond to the screensize of the device that connects to it, at a minimum. Your choice is to build a second mobile site (as suggested) or else have the pages on your current site respond to the screen size.

Responsive design for your website is a good thing. It promotes consistency, reliability, and a better experience for users.

I think it's important to make websites responsive, because apart from anything else you're saving yourself lots of hassle if you want your site to work on multiple devices. Most people wouldn't want to make a new layout PER device/screen size these days. Not like in the old days when you needed a completely different site for wap / mobile, etc.

Resposive site works on all devices and screens. So this is good for your customers. Think about them and your profit grows bigger)

Being responsive does have an effect on your ranking in mobile search results. However, the reason websites become responsive isn't for Google. It's all about ensuring your website is accessible and user-friendly.

Providing mobile users with a mobile experience is essential. A quick search on google will find many case studies of companies increasing their sales with this simple change to their design.

Obviously, certain industries place more of an importance on responsive design than others. For example, the retail industry invests massively in responsive websites. B2B websites however don't because many of their users are unlikely to be viewing the website on a mobile device.
