Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

The low ball offers are creeping upward, but nowhere in my ballpark.

And that is because Chaomi now shows LLLL.com chip prices have picked up and are getting closer to $2,500 now from under $2,000 couple of days ago.

Is it possible we hit the 3.5K to be the minimum? Im starting to feel so! the daily LLLL sales are becoming less in count and higher in price. Im guessing also less auctions during the holiday/christmas will make fewer profit taking and hence maybe higher realizations!
I wish we hit that mark as I got a few Chips like MPSM TDCM and FPMN
Also got 24 "semi" good pronounceables like MAFY AZKY and the likes... these usually pick up as well.

What do you think guys? be positive and give me hope :D

Cool name, good sale but definitely not the highest price paid for a LLLL.com. Fund.com went for almost $10M and Porn.com was around there as well. Dudu.com also sold for $1M.

Not cool. Interjection. Slang. Obscene. If anyone paid for it was not because it's russian word )))

and I had to explain to lots of people that the letter U is not rubbish.

quan.com 240000 USD
riji.com 144000 USD
moyu.com 123200 USD
zhou.com 113600 USD

Lol.

U is problematic letter with few exceptions. Huli is one of them (excluding Russian meaning, but then, there is no H in Russian). It can be pronounced as Huli or Hyuli, which both sound similar. In addition, it is very close to famous service Hulu's name and probably gets some type-in traffic and easier recognition. And generally CVCV pattern commands much higher premiums over the rest.

Zhou is not good comparison either. OU together make an easy to pronounce sound, plus, it is a Chinese name.

You see? does not matter what the LLLL is, at the end of the day, there is nearly always something in it.

8 years ago, when I started this thread, I had to explain this over and over to the naysayers, those who could not believe that the buyout would hold, then those who could not believe any LLLL.com would sell for at least $100 and now, 8 years later, the floor is about $300.

Meanwhile, billions of new internet users and many thousands of new companies joined the world.

And guess what? It's still a long way from over as there are still more billions of people who will get connected and all it takes is a tiny fraction of those numbers to push even higher the price of short .com domains.

Demand & supply, like everything else.

OK, let's say another way: it is the highest LLLL.com sale this year )

I agree. Right now any LLL.com is great and factor of prestige, no matter how bad the letter combo is. Even ZXV would sell at $20K or higher. In another 10 years any LLLL.com would be very prestigious, probably, and would represent large value regardless of the meaning of the letter combo.

But if we are talking about the market right now, the presence of U will right away give perception of low quality and bring down the price to floor levels. Many investors/buyers have no clue beyond the "guidelines" of 0 and 4 is bad, V and U should be avoided. V is another example of fantastic undervalued letter. It might have few words matching it in the dictionary, but those are amazing ones, like Video, Vision, Virtual, Velocity, Venture(s), Visual(ization), Voice, Vanguard, Van, Vermont, Vegas, Vietnam etc. And then add the languages around the world that use "V" much more extensively and you can see its huge potential.

U is for University, Union isn't good for end-users. University may prefer .edu or .org
So what's left for U? United, Universal, Use, Unit, Utah, Used, Urban. Not as good as V.

I personally value "western-semi-premium" in this order: W, V, K, U, J, but particular position of some letters may change my appreciation. For example I believe U is good in the beginning because company names may start from United, Utah, Universal, Urban )) more likely than in the end-position.

Why K is higher than U? Because it's very good in many european languages. For example in Russian it stands for Company, Corporation and I had a suceess with K-end-user-sales.

In Slavic languages (at least in Macedonian), "X" approximates the "H" sound, but it's not exact -- more from the the back of the throat.

Crazy that is happening on Chinese auctions, below few sales from last one:

quan.com 240000 USD
riji.com 144000 USD
moyu.com 123200 USD
zhou.com 113600 USD

Just advice, dont sell your short domains cheap
These are not random non chip but very valuable Pinyin names. For example, QUAN is a big money name.

QUAN:犬>Dog
QUAN:券>Ticket

The remaining three are not bad either.
RIJI:日記>Diary
MOYU:墨魚>Cuttlefish, can be a brand
ZHOU:周>Chinese last name

What do you think of KUAR.com?

Kuar 跨入 = into

https://translate.google.com/#zh-CN/en/kuar

So in Pinyin that is into.com

English version of it would be at least $xxx, xxx name. What would Chinese value their "into" for? Should be great for any type of project, for example travel...

Couldn't find KUAR, though.

it is weird. Google translate suggests "kuar" = "into" or "kua ru" = into. So does it mean that kuar is heard/perceived as kua ru?

I liked the name as pronouncing out QR technology (Ku Ar -> QR), but as a bonus discovered that it is also either "into" or very close to it in sounding.

I am pretty sure that google translate thing is on its very best day about 20% accurate.
cheers
