Got an email from Domain Agents today for my domain WhoaList (in king)

how does this work? seems like someone is interested in it and DomainAgents is contacting me.

are they a scam? to get me to register for their service with the "hope" that I might have a sale?

I've never seen this before. I get this feeling there is no buyer. and hey just want me to sign up for whatever service they have.

oh Whoa! That's right! didn't even think of that! umm how? who do I contact on here? Thanks Lucid.

Try "report" your own first post and leave a message. Not sure if they will definitely edit it, but there's no harm in asking.

I also received an inquiry from DomainAgents today, it does seem they've been busy. (y)

On a side note it amazes me that some potential buyers are willing to pay $20 just to make an offer on a domain but don't want to bid higher than $250-300 for the domain name itself. (but that's a story for another day in another thread) ;)

I just take the credit as I feel the same about PayPal.

If you're in the US or Canada, you also have the option of a gift certificate for a certain common 'gourmet coffee chain' :)

I believe $200 minimum yes.

Simply for negotiating you will get $10. whether closes or not. I think you’ll need to open an account to get the $10. though.

I have received many offers and closed domain sales through DomainAgents. I’ve worked a $200 initial offer up to thousands before closing.

got an offer to purchase one of my crypto names from them for peanuts. it was strange they sent over something that looked like an order for the name....i think they are more brokers and less a marketplace.

Just received an inquiry today from DomainAgents.

After reading the thread I think I will go ahead and start the process and see what happens.

I dont think they are a scam but just seems they have cra@p service levels - much like many other marketplaces that us Domainers have to put up with.

If it makes you feel any better I think Adam Strong, the owner of NameBio, is an investor at DA.

sounds good. I've connected with that guy. Forget his name though. he seems help and reasonable and trustworthy.

I would not worry.

You could lose a potentially good deal.

They are legit.

I would create an account and do your negotiations.

Good luck!!

But thanks for the advice either way. I already understood that believe me. posting seems more efficient. plus helps with Namepros bottomline creating a page that generates income for the site. :xf.grin:

posting threads with such titles isn't efficient, especially when there are already other threads that have established DA's credibility and user experiences.

imo....

^^^^No, they pay YOU (the seller) to participate

wait wait. buyer has to pay up front $20 to have domain agents reach out to me? and I have to pay $10 to participate?

and the jig is up! lol

although that's interesting.

whoever it is must like it enough to pay $20 win or lose.

that's says something. or not?

do I have to pay just to respond? that can get expensive if I get 1000 "offers".

They actually give you ten bucks to open the negotiation.

You have the option of getting paid the ten bucks, or donating it to a charity, and they give you some options, or you can have a DA credit put in your account.

I had never heard of them or used them before I had the first offer from them.

Now they are one of the marketplaces I list all my domains at.

They are a real marketplace now too.

First they were just brokers, but last year they launched their marketplace.

They improve things all the time.

The marketplace started off kind of slow, but now it is just like the others we all use.

It can't hurt to list your domains there.

yea! that's right! it was just a domain broker site like any other. so didn't really go back after the first "look see". good to know! thanks!

I didn't bother with the $10 payment to me, as there didn't seem to be a viable way to collect it.

Perhaps it would be worth offering a range of payment methods - Bitcoin, GoDaddy credit, Payoneer or something like that. Many of us won't go near PayPal as we don't trust them.

I just take the credit as I feel the same about PayPal.

@Avtar629

If they are a legit company which it seems they are perhaps you might want to consider asking a mod to remove the word "scam" from the title. It would be decent of you since all threads are indexed by Google.

Just my opinion.

True True. not my intention. but the word Scam is an eyecatcher. just wanted more replies. if any. not here to bash any company that's legit as this one seems to be based on the posts here.

but you know there ARE alot of shady companies from not so reputable areas of the world where you can't know who you are dealing with and from where.

the internet after all is global.

I do remember reading posts here that start like...

"did anyone gets spam spam from....."
or
"have you been offer a domain service?"

On Dec 14th a buyer initiated a transaction through domainsagent to make an offer on one of my domains. I negotiated with that buyer solely through the platform but our negotiations ended on Dec 16th as my asking price and his highest offer were too far apart. 2-3 weeks later I sent domain agents an email asking why my $10 credit is still not rewarded. One week later I still didn't receive a reply so I sent a second email. That second email also never got replied to.

This was my second email:

Hello,

On December 14th someone placed an offer on my domain domainname.com using the domainagents platform. After some negotiation between me (the seller) and the potential buyer we didn't come to an agreement. The negotiations stopped on Dec. 24th. When will my $10 payment for the time I lost negotiating be released? I already contacted you related to this question one week ago but still received zero reply so I'm trying for the second time. I hope I will receive a reply at some point.

Thanks,

Bram.

So the whole purpose of their site is to reward the seller with some part of the fee if they are willing to negotiate on their platform, but obviously not always reward that fee (and they don't bother to respond to my emails either).

What's up with that @DomainAgents ?
