GlobalWarming and Alternative Energy Domains

Hello All,

I was recently told by one of the members here that some of my globalwarming names were too scary and no one would put money into names like that. The names he was referring to was GlobalwarmingDomain and GreenhouseDomains but I have many more much "scarier" than them.

I have names like GlobalwarmingDisaster, GlobalwarmingTax, WarmingDisaster,
WarmingWarning, and a lot of alternative energy domains.

My question is, does anyone else think think these names are scary? Does anyone here besides me invest in such names? I really haven't seen many posted in here and I'm just wondering how popular they are with others.

If you have any of this type names please post them, and I would love to hear any comments you may have on the present and future potential value of names in this area.......thanks

Solar domain names, being released by professional domain consultant Stephen Douglas, of Successclick.com, are among the most sought after domain names, in anticipation of the gold rush of solar products, services and other trends in the solar fields.

The portfolio features over 300 premium generic descriptive domain names, and their value is expected to reach beyond $1.5 million in the sale. Douglas also said he would probably allow solar energy companies to "cherry pick" domain names from the portfolio to meet their specific marketing targets.

Is it really possible that 300 solar names could sell for $1.5 million?

1.5 million for 300 domains? if they are generic industry specific expressions, I'm sure 1.5 million should be achievable.

300 solar names would have to average $5,000 each to bring in $1.5 million. These solar names sold over the past year or so but its possible these same names would sell for much more if sold now in the hot new solar market.

I see where Co2Bank.com sold for $3500 on Afternic yesterday. This is very encouraging to me because I have a few Co2 and Emission names. This is the first one I've seen sold....has anyone heard of any others?

I'm all about green domains

I am all for green domains. I have been following the bio-fuel tech and science pretty closesly. I have very high hopes for Jatropha. Unlike ethanol, it doesn't compete with our food supplies because it offers very little nutritional value. BP just announced an apx. 10 Million dollar investment into the research for Jatropha based bio fuels.

I have hopes for Algae based fuels as well, but I think that is further away. I haven't seen any articles indicating key players investing lots of money into R&D but I could be missing something. Algae is being researched from two different angles though, bio-fuel and hydrogen production.

Here's something interesting...

From the sold list above GoGreenToday.com first sold for $310 now I see where it recently sold for $10,000. I also see Green4Life.com first sold for $300 and recently went for $3000.

Just goes to show how some early owners of green domains misjudged the potential future values.
