Hi guys,

Like anyone of you, I am always searching for new trends. For the last 18 months I went really deep into the LLLL. I placed my bets, and now only have to wait for all them 4 letters to be :sold:

So I was thinking. What would be a nice new niche for me to get into? My answer after some thinking and testing is actually quite simple. I decided to invest in quality LLLLL coms. I know I know, it is not actually a new trend and not really a niche. But I tell you, these 5 letter domains can become big business in some time :imho:

Why? Because quality 5 letter domains are extremely brandable. Lots of startups there looking for a brandable short name, especially the web 2.0 based ones. Quality 5 letter domains generate also natural type in traffic as I experienced myself. And ofcourse, it is dotcom based, the only safe bet you can make I believe.

I also believe that not all 5 letter dotcoms will be sold shortly, maybe they will never be. You really need to have quality names. But that is also a question I have for you. What is a quality name in this niche?

So maybe we can make this thread a bit sticky and share thoughts and experiences in developing this part of the domain market.

Oh yeah, just to share this with you. I recently acquired sygar, lyned, jebia, sebod, pifab, pobit, samau and penep.

So crazy in china, the 5L.COM(no AEIOUV)would be registered out.
wow 3,200,000 bulk、bulk、bulk、playing them like in stock marketing.
Chinese Premium 5L.com will open a new chapter。

This is a big deal... And much more speculative than all others buyouts..
Just to heads up there are 11,881,376 total combinations of 5L different than chips 5L. And there is no way they will all be buyout.. So considering value/performance any random chips may not have some good value to trade only good patterns may have value.

Yes they are..and they are not random. I researched and put them together. They have good meanings. Products and services

Hmmm very strange..you can verify they are available right now ? Can you check with 2 registrars ?

Similar to my thoughts. Random combinations without meanings will hold no value. There are even some patterns without perceived value apart from the fact that they have lots of repeated letters.
5L is different from 4L. With 4L, combinations have meaning and quality is higher because of less number of letters. But with 5L, a lot of random combinations exist. At the end of the day, when the attention is fully on 5L, only meaningful combinations will attract top dollars

This is the money war. The US citizens and Rick together must register all 4~6 letters and numbers .US for the face and dignity of the country. This particular TLD .US is lagging way behind. US citizens must show some power. Rick earn so much money from selling his domains, so he must lead and register all of them.
And drop it next year :P

And also those meaningful 5L combinations meaningful for Chinese.. If you are not Chinese it's difficult to produce some valuable meanings. I have Chinese friend asked me to get him random chip letters ending with "w". It means website "w" in Chinese so such pattern i would never imagine.

OK so I checked 5L.com CHIPS which start with one of : "cn", "bj", "gd", "lc", "zx", "kj", "sh"

CN=China BJ= BeiJing the others I don't remember :)

13,846 domains are still available (likely less, as the scan took more than 12 hours)

CN, BJ, GD and SH all regged out.

If you want to check the untaken names, the OpenOffice spreadsheet is attached.
I am confused why you included these (LC, ZX, KJ) with the others. There is a reason why these are available and others are not.

Who are the true end users for the LLLLL.com domains that make no sense? Would love to see examples of developed websites using the "premium" 5L.com domains.

So after hours of research as a non Chinese, I came up with this

中 茶 出口商

Zhōng chá chū kǒu shāng

ZCCKS

It means China/Chinese tea exporter

Except a Chinese tea exporter would look for a domain more understandable at foreign markets )

When I see sociologists asking people opinions about elections etc, they usually use samples of no more than 1000-2000 size. Out of 320 mln. living in USA. But this people are spread around different states and randomly picked.

Same principles can be applied to domains. If you choose 2000 domains randomly picked with 75 starting at each letter you can get approximate results of how many are registered. I'm not an experts of statistics, but sample testing works.

exactly. In my first post on topic, I wrote +/- small percent, as nobody cares for too much precision at this point.

No it's not a "money war", it's a scam. Remember that story about the emperor how wasn't wearing any clothes?

Who benefits from the nonsense LLLLL / NNNNN domain name sales? Hint: it's not the sucker who ends up owning them last.

I think we stopped asking such questions long time ago.. "true end users" , considering the current climate about all these crazy buyouts, most of them has no "end users" or they are not bought out to build websites.
However, real question is whether to invest on digital assets like domains, bitcoins or assets in real world.. I would personally prefer digital assets more than real assets like stocks, houses, cars etc.. It gives me more flexibility and freedom in 21st century.. But this is a choice of yours of course.
Apart from this if you ask which digital assets would you choose that's a big question, currently everything is gaining value.. But how about in 1 year? answer is very big "unknown"..

i have a few cvcvc.com and cbcbc.com

since there are only a few combinations in this pattern who can give me a future estimated value.

0
•••
One method of valuing is taking figures for previous order and dividing it by 26 (or 20, if it is premiums).
So, if cvcv.com could fetch $2600, for example, then cvcvc should be worth around $100.

0
•••
i think cvcv are selling for more than $2,600 these days

i should specify the letters are the same,

0
•••
that was just an example. Replace $2600 with whatever number you can find/imagine then repeat the steps.
