When you go for self-hosted, you may want to use Cloudflare for DNS hosting and use it as a CDN. This tool will be helpful if you have a huge list of domains.

My site DomainNames.cc using a modified version of Dndork script.

focus on acquiring quality domains, first.

wasting energy and $ to self host a list of crap, is a trap.

utilize free listing services and get some sales
then, later if you start profiting
use those funds for portfolio....
if, you think still need or want one.
