Curious who's got the oldest domain on the forums. What's your Top 1 or 2 Oldest Domains?

Were you the first one to hand register? Or when did you acquire?

It isn't just the oldest domain in the forum, it was the first domain name ever registered. For domainers, it's definitely a cool name to own.

Yes and no. Nordu was directly assigned while Symbolics was *applied* for. And yet, there is an older domain name but is it really that old?

As of 2 years ago, there were 367 million domain's
I think at the time of this reg, there were only a few thousand. Perhaps about 2k
I didn't start domaining till 4/5 years later. Very different world then.

It took 2 years before the first 100 .coms were reg'd
6 years for the first 100 .org's

While I have seen those that try to place a value on age, it is meaningless and really unpredictable.
I guess if your name needs a boost, you could brag and hope it helps.
If it's not the first 10, I find no value in the age, but there are those that collect them.
Every name is valued on it's individual merits. But you never know who has a special thinking for age.

That being my oldest, the next are in 2000 and I have about 12 from that year. Nothing to brag about except that the cost of registration 'then' did not allow for holding much trash.

I should add for those that do not know, that around 2000 is the time when everyone was fighting to find out what you typed in the search bar. There is a history most should research on this because much of it still happens, but in different methods. And that google has made much of that not relevant, but not all of it.
