Anyone have any news on this auction which is underway?

Check your glasses and your calculator. How about some real sales numbers and domains for you to chew on:
Mortgages.mobi - $10,500 (2006) No dev requirements
Mortgages.mobi - $25,000 (2007 TRAFFIC) No dev requirements
Mortgage.mobi - $18,000 (2008) Dev Requirements
These numbers show about a 30% decline using this real world example and I suspect it would be less of a decline if there were no dev requirements and a better economy. Maybe even an increase if housing market was not in the toilet, especially for mortgage.mobi.
Can you show me your 70-80% decline comparing very similar domains like these?
Why is every sale compared to flowers? You can imagine what sale prices might have been all day long. Doesn't amount to squat. How about some real numbers to chew on.snoop said:Here is the results,
computers- 9.5k
airlines---- 9.5k
boats----- 6k
mortgage- 18k
men------ 10k
sales----- 10.5k
forsale--- 5k
drugs---- 17.5k
films----- 10k
show---- 5k
escort--- 10k
company- PASS
religion--- 3k
records--- 8.5k
Can you imagine men.mobi getting 100k+ at the time flowers.mobi got 200k or mortgage.mobi getting 180k+? I can't. These are very strong .mobi's but not the "absolute pinnacle" type of names that has come up for auction before. I think most of those 10-18k names would have been 40-80k names at the peak.

Jeff said:Name one premium / generic "dot Mobey" domain name that has been a verified, completed sale - ie., not still having mTLD in the Whois contact details - from Traffic (or Sedo, for that matter) to an corporate / End user that now has an unique and compelling fully developed website for exclusive use by those that are "on the go" ... and is now being promoted to the masses? :red:
Righto, mTLD abandoned - as predicted - the RFP process for GREED MONEY ... and if the mandated 6-month development requirements are not even going to be enforced, then it's further evidence that mTLD is purely in this thing for immediate PROFITS! :tri: :imho:
For those that demand answers and balance to the whole mTLD / "dot Mobey" situation (fiasco) - including their incestuous participation in the Traffic shows - it is becoming increasingly more and more difficult and problematic for those who are proponents of the extension to actually defend what has transpired to date, in my view.
PS. Any more Traffic updates, .MOBI or otherwise? :gl:

scandiman said:Jeff, how many premium / GENERIC .com domain names have a verified, completed sale since Sept '06 from Traffic (or Sedo) to a corporate end user that now has an unique and compelling fully developed website? If .com is King, let's look at that first.
No Jeff, it's called applying the same standard across the board. You set up unrealistic and false expectations of the .mobi extension and then declare it is a failure when your silly bar is not met. All the while no extension can meet your demands but somehow it only applies to .mobi. I ask your own question back to you and you accuse me of evasion and deception. Ridiculous.Jeff said:^ This is called subterfuge, friends
Guess what Jeff, I don't jump through your silly hoops. But apparently you can continue unabated with your slander. Emeritus = Immunity.Jeff said:It is 100% subterfuge (along with a healthy dose of the .MOBI Agenda), Paul ... because you, and Coast, have consistently failed to adequately answer the questions and concerns that have been been raised here directly relating to the "dot Mobey" domains that have supposedly "sold" at Traffic (which is the thread topic), IMHO.
The answer is ZERO! None. NADA. (And, as you very well know, it certainly wasn't the "weather.mobi" arrangement)! :yell: :imho:
Jeff said:And finally, your highly obsure, incestuous, "propoganda link" is NOT linked from the Weather.com™ home page ... but the following IS directly linked from the HOME PAGE: :gl:

Jeff said:Paul, name just ONE generic domain name in my specific question above?
Thus far, you have refused (evaded) to answer the question and instead attempted to discredit me and my opinions, IMHO.
Sure, bright orange .mobi logos are obscure. Do you hear yourself? So what if it wasn't sold at an auction, who cares? It's a developed AND promoted site on a Premium Generic domain name owned by a major corporation, exactly what you claim is needed for the extension to thrive but you ignore the facts when presented to you.Jeff said:PS. Here is the less than obsure real mobile content link from Weather.com™ ("weather.mobi" - ANOTHER FACT - was not "sold" at Traffic, by the way):
First you accuse me of subterfuge and now libel? Why? Because I have an opinion and a plan to spend my own money? Jeff, you need to refrain from the slander. You just continue to make yourself look worse. If you or anyone else is not into .mobi, then don't buy it.Jeff said:Even suggesting that "dot Mobey" prices could go higher is libelous! :imho:
Goodnight.
