The FACT that there have been ZERO verified "dot Mobey" premium / generic domains "sold" at (thread topic -->) Traffic (or Sedo) to any corporate / End user(s) that are now promoting unique and compelling fully developed websites for exclusive use by those that are "on the go" ... is, or should be, EXTREMELY MEANINGFUL for all those seeking the truth about mTLD and its highly problematic extension, IMHO. :gl: :yell:

What part about established brands preferring to use their brand name .mobi domains don't you understand?

It wasn't RFP'd ...

Weather.mobi was indeed offered up via the RFP process and awarded to The Weather Channel Interactive Inc. Of course you know this but disregard this fact, just like you disregard the bright orange .mobi logo on their weather.com website.

Jeff, to non-answer your question, I am an individual who likes .mobi and believes it is a good vehicle for getting information to end users via development, which is not perfect yet, but I am doing the best I can since I did not come into this expecting to become a developer. As it turns out, prices for .mobi are lower than .com because, surprise, they have to be developed since there is no historical traffic. That is fine with me. When I am ready to buy more, they should be in my price range and then I will put in the work to make them more valuable.

Furthermore, I am not employed by mTLD. Here is their website if you want to talk with them directly about anything else that you wish to cross examine me about, because as far as I am concerned this conversation is over:

The rest of you, please try to excuse the fact that Jeff brought this argument here instead of in the .mobi forum where it belongs and those of us who didn't like what he had to say disagreed with him.

Pretty freakin' weak IMO. A couple names I submitted I was sure would sell based on how past auctions go didn't, in general activity on a lot of domains was low, and I think overall this + the live auction were big flops. I don't fully blame Moniker - some of this is the economy taking its toll...I myself have been more careful with my money and passed up probably an easy $2500+ profit LLL.com flip opportunity because I didn't want to use up most of my savings for it "just in case" it's hard to find a buyer right now. Still, I think Moniker needs to cut the ridiculous terms they're making people agree to, cut the commission down, and figure out some way to improve the quality of what they take in and sufficiently bring buyers to these auctions. I just thought in comparison to previous Traffic silent auctions especially that this silent auction was really weak and IMO a letdown.

Yea, no kidding on OW.com - kind of a travesty a name like that going as low as it did in a venue like that.

Realistically though that is never going to happen is it? The marketplace is made of people "with the cash", those people set the prices. Not the people who could, would, should....This is particularly true when cash is tight. Not meaning to be rude hear, just saying it as it is.

I'm pretty sure if the name were auctioned again tomorrow the price wouldn't be much different.
